Self Care

What does self care mean to you?

As we enter into a new year, you might find yourself looking to make resolutions, trying to implement new, healthy patterns into your life, or even looking to change your name move to a different country...

Whatever your story, you probably already have some kind of "self care" deep in your daily practice. It doesn't have to be complicated either. For example, mine consists of a strong cup of black coffee in the morning when I wake up. No matter what else goes on in my day, if I have that cup of coffee, I've invested in my daily "self-care" and consider it a win.

In determining what "self care" means for you, I encourage you to trust your gut. It can be overwhelming trying to decipher what will work best, and with so many options, we might get struck by debilitating choice paralysis. Start small, start simply, and don't be afraid to try a bunch of things. You don't have to meditate for an hour, juice cleanse for a week, or buy $500 worth of supplements to take part in a self care journey. That being said, if those things speak to you, go for it! Also be open to the possibility that your self care will change day to day.

In my self care exploration, I found that I flourished with two kinds of meditation. A Moving Meditation with some kind of fitness activity (yoga!) where I could concentrate on my breathing and the fine tuning of muscle groups that leaves me feeling at peace.  On the other hand, sometimes I crave something simpler, so I put on some Binaural Beats or a To Be Magnetic exercise and close my eyes with a Magic Crystal eye pillow. I can calm my nervous system and center myself in a profound way.

Listen to your gut as it will be your compass for your true north "self care". Some days my body tells me that I need a green juice and a 6 mile hike with some Magic Crystal socks, while other days I'm required to sit on the couch wearing Magic Crystal socks, watching rom-coms and eating potato chips. (And yes, my Magic Crystal socks seem to make it into any form of self care!)

Self Care should mean balance. Going too hard in one direction can also be detrimental. Just think about yin and yang, providing duality in your life can help balance you and enhance your practice.

We think about self care whenever we are creating a new product. Our goal is to help enhance your life in the simplest, yet most impactful way possible. We test everything ourselves, spending years in research and development, working to establish unique formulas that can be implemented into everyday products.

We hope we can help bring some peace and clarity into your self care journey, and look forward to continuing to bring you more life changing products in the future.
